There are dead whales washing up on Williamsons Beach Wonthaggi. The sight of the Victorian Governments De-Sal plant. The latest is the second this year and there was another at Portsea. This is not a regular occurance to see dead whales on the beach. Apparently there death is caused by under water explosions and drilling. We also had drums of a highly toxic hydrochloric acid wash up on our beaches earlier in the year. This is said to be a cleaning agent. We were about to paddle out and were warned by a ranger on 4 wheel motor bike. People at a Phillip Island surf school had to be washed down industrial style. The Vic Gov claims no responsibility. We always get debree washing up on our beaches from container ships but not like this. The Southern Wright Whales Migrate past here with their young. I wonder if Peter Garrett knows about this, he’s a fellow surfer and environmentalist. Or are these strange occurances just coincidence?
