JJ

JJ has held many positions in the surf industry, most notably as event commentator, Editor of Australia’s Surfing Life Magazine and more recently in his role overseeing media at some of the industry’s largest tournaments including five of the ASP’s 2011 World Tour locations.

His role in the first TransparentSea voyage was full-time media guy and part-time sailor, entrusted to co-coordinate outgoing messaging when on Terra Firma and then to man the spare kayak and hit the high seas when they were at their most dangerous. Like each of the core participants from that first trip, JJ deems it one of the most gratifying surfer-undertakings to which he has contributed and relishes the second installment down the USA’s West Coast. 

These days he is based on the Gold Coast, but grew up, coincidentally, on the Northside of Sydney, Australia at a place called "Whale Beach".
